Santa Rosa

Hyrum had to do some training up in Santa Rosa for a couple of days, so Claire and I went with him and made it into a mini vacation.
I guess this is where Charles Schultz was born or lived or something, because Charlie Brown stuff was everywhere. Giving him a high five!

Claire ran into the hotel room, and checked out the couch first thing.

When Hyrum finished his training on the first day, we drove out to Doran Beach at Bodega Bay. Cold and windy, but Claire loved it.

That water was like ice! I saw several kids playing in it though, one 5ish year old boy was full on swimming.

Hyrum threw a piece of grass as a bird, and suddenly, over a dozen other birds swooped down and surrounded us. Haha, they thought we had food. Then Hy and Claire chased them away. Click on this pic to zoom in on Claire's happy little face.

The next day, Claire and I went to Train Town. She was so excited to ride the train!

As always, she loved the merry-go-round, and insisted I ride on my own horse.
And of course, we rode all the fast rides (roller coaster and the scrambler).

After this bumpy roller coaster stopped, the two little girls (about 6 and 8) in the front got out just sobbing. One was crying "That was NOT fun!" So sad! It was so jerky that they probably weren't strong enough to keep their heads from banging into the metal seats.

Later, we went to this fun park. There was a group of teenagers doing some kind of work out, and Claire wandered over to join in.

You can hear one of the girls saying "Oh my gosh, she is so cute!" They loved watching Claire.

She also made a little friend and they wandered around holding hands and going down slides together. Claire makes friends wherever she goes, I wish I was more like her! I taught her how to climb this ladder thing. It only took a few tries and then she could do it all by herself!

Her favorite part was probably the splash pad, the first one she's ever been to. She definitely loved it!
We had a great trip, we love living here!

I LOVE the feet in the sand shot too! I love the couch video. One day when she's older she'll look at that and see the love her daddy had for her when she was little. Too cute. I also love how fearless she is on those roller coasters. She is definitely her MoMo's granddaughter. : ) Soooo cute. I love love love all the photos.
