Our summer

Our summer reading program. Claire picked this up one day, so I got sucked in and re-read all 7, then Hyrum and I saw saw the last movie in 3D for our 7th anniversary. So fun!
We got Claire a balance bike, which she loves, but isn't very good at yet. This, apparently, is her preferred riding gear.

My aspiring singer. Oh yeah.

Giving daddy some snuggles in the car
This girl LOVES to watch sports. We don't know where she gets it. We pulled her kicking and screaming from a few people playing tennis one day. Living right next to an awesome park, we get to go on bike rides, to the playground, watch games, watch guys at the skate park, watch the geese, and just play around. We live in the BEST PLACE EVER!
Lots of pool time, we love having a pool a 2 minute walk away!

With Claire's sleep going wacky (giving up naps), she often fell asleep at inopportune times
Eating the squished together hunk of raisins from the bottom of the container.

Her 26 months pic. Claire pretty much only wears about 4 outfits, and she wears this blue dress 3-4 times a week. She loves it!
Some of the cute little things she's said over the last few months. She went through a short phase where she would ask for a pair of shoes or something and change her mind and say, "Actually, these ones." She also would add an "s" to the end of words like mine and too, or a "y" like ball (bally, blankie). After asking her a question, she has lately answered, "Yes, I do" to everything.

Claire has been trying to use the word "are" but always puts it at the end of sentences: "where mine baby are?" But she's also given up some of her baby words that I miss. She now pronounces kangaroo correctly, instead of kangaroo-roo, underwear instead of armor, crocodile instead of croc croc. My favorite right now is she call her ooga booga jammies "booga-ah-ahs". They are her favorite pajamas, and she wears them 4-5 times a week. I also love how she says, several times a day, "I'm so happy!" or "I'm so estited!" (excited)

She loves to sing songs and has a great little memory.

Claire has been getting over several of the random fears she had. One, was bugs. She would FREAK OUT if she saw an ant, or something she perceived might be a bug (like a piece of cotton fuzz). We figured out that singing songs about said feared objects, and giving her some control really helped her. Here, she is trying to "pinch" a spider with a tissue (yes, we taught her to stomp on bugs). She still doesn't love insects, but she doesn't come running and screaming anymore.
She also is now ok with dogs, but not black ones. When we see a dog at the park, she often grabs my hand and chases it down saying she wants to pet him. She'll get shy when we get there, and always wants me to pet it first, but she's been doing so great.
Claire knows her first and last name, my name, Hyrum's name, how old she is, and what city we live in. She pronounces our last name "fairmanks" and often says her name is "fairmanks claire". Just in the last few days has she started saying "hold me" instead of "hold you". I just night weaned her (pretty much just went cold turkey after waffling for the past 8 months) and told her the na-nas were going nigh-nights and she would see them again when the sun comes out. She is still a boob-aholic during the day, and the other day when I asked her if she loved daddy, she said "I love mommy, and I love boobs." So far, it hasn't resulted in her sleeping better at night, but I'm hoping that in the next month or so that's what it translates to.

Claire loves people, she makes friends everywhere she goes. We were just at Ikea, and she stopped to watch some girls playing. When I said, "Come on Claire, let's go" she jerked away from me and said "NO, I'm talking to my friends!"

One of her favorite games to play right now is when she fake cries, and says she's sad. I ask her is she needs a hug and a kiss, and then she's all better. Then she tells me I'm sad, gives me a hug and a kiss, and declares me better. She's so sweet. Another favorite game, is when Hyrum or I try to put on her clothes and then say "Mommy's too big! Does is fit Claire?" It's a great way to get her dressed when she doesn't want to. Then we put it on her and say "It's just right!" She yells out "It's just right!" all day about all kinds of stuff. It is too cute.

Kelli was out here for a few days and got some family shots. These are the two I've seen so far. love

Claire is such a joy and we have had an awesome summer!

You read ALL 7 Harry Potter books again? You must read soooo fast. I LOVE her rendition of Rock-a-bye Baby. I also love that you love where you live and that you are so happy here. I'm SOOOO glad to have you back! I'm glad she's getting over her random fears. She just couldn't be much cuter. . . and I LOVE her smile.
