39 weeks

Due to popular demand (from my mom) here is a belly picture with clothes on! See how skinny Hyrum has gotten? It's not an illusion, he's been riding his bike to work (10-12 miles) for a while now, and climbing up mountains to snowboard down. The ski lifts are closed, but there's still plenty of snow! His wardrobe has gotten a lot bigger since he can now fit into his old clothes.
And turned sideways. Yeah, I know.

I've had plenty of women over the years tell me things about pregnancy "that nobody tells you." Despite hearing lots of gory details, here are some of the things that I didn't quite expect, and luckily, there are quite a few things I was told that I didn't have to experience.

*I knew it would be hard for me to get up during the last weeks/months, but I didn't know that the reason for this would be because it feels like my pelvis is going to break apart into a several little pieces, and to add to that, I can't use my hands to help me get up because those hurt too
*I didn't expect to not have fully functioning hands/wrists for the last 2 months (despite knowing friends that had preexisting ct and had it get worse, I've never had it)
*I didn't expect having to do the dishes standing sideways
*I had high hopes for not getting belly stretch marks, since my mom and both my sisters didn't get them. Oh well, I don't mind them as much as I thought I might
*I thought the whole "full bodied pregnancy hair" would come in the beginning, not wait until the beginning of the third trimester
*With my back history, I did not expect to be able to be 9 months pregnant without horrible back pain (if that was confusing- I don't have back pain), guess I can thank my weekly chiropractor visits for that!
*I haven't had a single stranger touch my belly, and I haven't minded at all the people that have, even if they are random people at church
*Pregnancy insomnia
*Getting random hives (that I think were associated with stress) that made me want to cut off the affected body part
*Loving that for the first time, I'm not not freezing cold all the time. And I don't really mind the heat- it's been in the 90s lately
*That all this extra weight would be so hard on my knees (I'm assuming that's why they hurt anyway)
*Having a chronically stuffy nose
*That I would love not knowing the gender at the end (I used to think people that didn't find out were crazy). It's so fun for me to imagine and wonder
* I had no idea how hard it would be to name a little person (even though people did tell me this one), especially when having to deal with someone's opinion that is totally different from mine! So, no, we don't have any names picked out, and we really don't talk much about it. I think it's come up twice in the last 3 months. Once DB shows up, that will reduce our arguing by 50%, and we can actually try these names out and see what fits. It took us weeks to name our dog, don't expect much!

And now...
I love Stanley

GEEZ Brie!!! I never really thought you were having twins until this last picture. CA-razy.

I can't wait!!! It's more exciting to me to wonder what you're having because I was so sure I was having a boy that I don't really feel like I had a "surprise" baby.

I also had the stuffy nose thing and HATED it. And the naming thing...well you know how it was. Poor Max's name was "Squeaker" for 9 days.

Can't wait for the "call"...

LOL, I will be cracking up if it takes you guys as long as Kristin to name your baby.... indecisiveness obviously runs in our family ;) I don't think I was ever not ready to give birth, I hated being pregnant so much, the sooner the better! But nothing ever got done until after the baby was born anyways...procrastination runs in our family too ;) Enjoy these last few days/weeks and I too can't wait for the "call" :)

Lol. I still think we need a picture of the 2 of us together. It'd be a funny comparison. Interesting about the stuffy nosed thing, I didn't know that about you two. 9 days doesn't seem that long to name a baby...weren't you Jennifer for a couple of weeks?

No, 9 days isn't a long time...10 months and 9 days is a long time! Just kidding, I've know plenty of people who had like 10 names and wouldn't decide on anything until they saw their baby...makes total sense! HA, I forgot about "Jennifer"

And I too LOVE Stanley!!!!!!

I agree that picking out a name is hard - but have decided that picking out a paint color is harder. :) Go get em, chica!

Wow, what a belly. You've earned those stretch marks. Yeah, the stuffy nose thing is annoying. I forgot it took you that long to name the dog. Makes sense that it's been hard with a baby. And you were only Jennifer Brie for 1 day. I was still in the hospital, and the pediatrician came to check on you guys. I told him Baby B was going to be Jennifer Brie, but that we were definitely calling you Brie. After he checked on you, he came back in my room and said "Jennifer is doing fine." That's when you went back to being Baby B. I knew if Ora couildn't remember for more than a few minutes, that we'd be dealing with confusion your whole life. I think we finally named you both by about a week or so later.
