24 months

All the things Claire has been up to the last month (I wrote this on time, just never got around to adding the pics). Still 12 teeth. Oh, and we moved to California at the beginning of June. She weighs around 27.5 lbs and is maybe 34.5ish inches tall.

I guess the only time I felt like taking pictures on the drive to California was when she was sleeping. We left around 5am.

Our loaded down truck
Claire's last visit with uncle Jay before we left. She LOVES to spin! And we miss Kassie and Jay so much!

Her favorite toys are probably still the magna doodle and her mega blocks. Sometimes when she is building, she makes the tower totally symmetrical with shape and color. If I put a block in the wrong spot, she takes it off, lol. She also loves to clean up the blocks before bed every night. Her new favorite game is hide and go seek. She will count to 10 and then run and find one of us, or go hide herself and say "where's claire?" then run out and say "there she is!"

This is a typical picture she asks us to draw, she tells us each body part, what we're wearing, everything. As you can see, we all wear dresses, we all have beards and we all have sweet hats. We also, apparently, have a robot and a flying dolphin.

A few of the super cute things she's started saying are "Careful daddy! Careful, it's hot!" "Excuse me" "Need help here!" "Let's GO!"
Whenever we laugh, she starts cracking up and saying "funny!" or "It's so funny!"

A few weeks ago, Claire came running up to me so excited, shouting, "Mommy! Mommy, look! My vulva is pink! It's pink mommy!" I still crack up about it, I guess little boys aren't the only ones that get excited about their parts.

Claire got her first popcicle, and she loved it! She calls them "happy-cicles" and often has them for breakfast (I make them with leftover smoothie)

Claire was so tired this night, I thought she was going to fall asleep eating her applesauce, so cute.

Claire can now count to 10 correctly every time, and has started working on letter sounds. She likes to ask "Mommy, B say?" and then answer herself "Buh, buh". She sometimes gets A, B, C, D, M, R, S, T and a few others correct, sometimes not.

Claire has become obsessed with robots. She likes to watch videos of real robots doing really boring things. She's fascinated. However, she is also going through a phase where she thinks everything is going to "get her", even things she likes. While she loves robots, she's also terrified of them, along with ants (and all bugs), dogs, cats, any animal that gets too close, geese (we have a mean, hissing one at our apartment), garbage trucks (another thing she also loves), and vacuums. She actually woke up tonight crying "Get you! Get you!"

My silly girl.

One of Claire's favorite books right now is a Sandra Boynton called "15 Animals". She started singing it in the bath one night, and I think she has it memorized better than Hyrum :)

Claire loves our "new house" and when we first moved in, she would just walk around saying "New house, I like it new house, new house nice". She fell asleep one night mumbling "new house" and when she woke up in the morning, she looked around, and said "Yep, newwww house".

One big reason we love living here is that my mom is so close! She watched Claire for us one night and Hyrum and I went to see the new X-Men movie. Claire had tons of fun dancing to So You Think You Can Dance, watching Curious George and playing in the back yard. On the drive over there, we were playing patty cake and at the end when I said "Put it in the oven for Mommy and Claire", she would say, "And Momo, and daddy, and Russ". She didn't want to leave anyone out! When Momo took Claire potty, she kept saying "Hold it!" and my mom had no idea what she wanted. Claire finally took my mom's hands and placed them under her arms. Claire sometimes likes for us to hold her when she's on the potty, and she refers to herself as "it". She'll say "mommy, hold it claire?" or when telling people her name "its claire!" while patting her chest. She also calls other people "it", as is "Look! It's jumping on the bed!" when referring to her cousin.

One nice thing about our temporary apartment is that there are a bunch of ducks and a family of geese (the goslings are almost as big as the parents). Claire loves to go out and feed them bread, chase the ducks, and just watch them.
The first few days we were here, Claire had her first accident in public (at Target, so I got to buy her a new dress) and wet the bed for the first time in a month. But since then she hasn't had any problems. She was actually wetting her pants a lot at home in Utah and has totally stopped that. It's been very nice! She can also now lift up the toilet lid, put her little potty seat on the toilet, push her stool over next to the toilet, pull her pants down, and climb up on the potty all by herself. It's so adorable.

Claire loves to ride on our shoulders or our backs, and says "piggy piggy piggy ride". She also give piggy rides to her babies or bear.

One of Claire's newest games is that she'll be standing somewhere, and then suddenly just fall and expect you to catch her. You can see that I wasn't prepared here!

Claire is such a little dare devil, it's scary! I love having a two year old!

So cute. I LOVE the waking up and saying "Yep, newwww house." I'm still laughing about that one.
