My, how they grow

From this...
To this! (My oh so good scrambled egg breakfast with onions, green peppers and cheese)OK, I guess there are a few steps in between.

Our babies, that we got in July at 2 days old. Phoebe, Buffy, Nugget, Coco, Mallow, and Lulu.
Getting big and allowed outside for the first time. But they definitely stayed close to us!
Big enough to move outside permanently into their coop/run. They loved being outside, but I was a little worried with them still being so young!
Our little dinosaurs
They eat most of our leftovers. Great garbage disposals!
Roosting at night
Learning to jump high and fly (and roosting where they aren't supposed to). Phoebe jumped outside of our fence once, months ago, and was freaking out trying to get back in. None of them have left since.
Yeah, we tiled our chicken coop. After tiling our bathrooms we had leftover, so I made a little design and Hyrum took care of the rest. It makes it a lot easier to clean (so Hyrum tells me), and the cold can't draft up during the winter and make them sick.
The big girls, just a few weeks ago.

Mallow is in charge and one of our favorites. When their water had frozen over (because one of them unplugged the heated waterer) Mallow let me know by running out to greet me, following me to the coop, standing by the water, and pecking me until I did something about it. She takes care of her girls. And they like grass. The first 4 eggs we got. They are dirty because Hyrum found 2 in the feed bucket, he hadn't put the nesting boxes together yet, another was under the overhang by our house, and another on the floor in the coop. The big one above is a double yolk egg. This is what it looked like (and maybe no one cares, but I thought it was cool). This is our fridge now after 4 1/2 days! There are 2 more double yolk eggs in there (they are huge) and the rest are the size of normal eggs. We think they taste better than storebought eggs, so come visit us and eat yummy eggs!

Wow! This is amazing! I love that you guys have your own chickens. I will say though, the first picture, when you said from this: to this, I thought it was a chicken casserole at first! Scary!

Hahaha! I didn't even think about that! Maybe I'll make a little note, just for you Anne. And of course Kelli, come and get 'em!

Anne's comment is hilarious. You're whole chicken post is funny. I'm jealous that you get all those great eggs. I can't believe your chicken's have a tile floor.

I'm really jealous of your chicken's floor! And i thought the same thing "oh my gosh, Hyrum already killed one of them!!!" Glad they are all still alive ;o) I want some of your good eggs, my kids ate 18 eggs last week, i would save a lot of money if i had my own chickens!
