We had Claire's birthday party on Saturday, about a week early, since my dad is in town. Prepare to be overwhelmed with cuteness (and a million pictures since I had a hard time narrowing it down. I wanted it to feel like you were there, ya know?).
The Birthday Banner, I need to get a better picture of this, I love it, and almost killed myself hanging it!

The cupcakes. I also made chocolate. Yum.

If I had a "theme" it would be bright colors. I loved these flowers!

The food table that I didn't get a pic of until afterward. So, the soda is missing from the pink and blue buckets, and I won't show you the rest, but it turned out great.

Our happy little family

The set-up outside. The weather was PERFECT. More perfect than I can describe. We had lots of friends and family join us and it was so much fun. It was great seeing everyone, and so I don't forgot who, thanks to Dad, Gramma, Jean, Jay, Kassie, Derek, Camila (and Ian), JP, Paul, Heather, Chloe, Livia (and baby), Landon, Lisa, Matt, Sophie, Claire, Mark, Kristi, Liam and Evan for coming to spend the afternoon with us!

Playing at the water table with Liam and Evan. I was their nanny from the time Liam was 6 weeks old until Evan was 5 months. Such sweet boys!

Claire's birthday shirt. I love it!

Singing Happy Birthday to the girl. "Mom, they're looking at me!" She didn't quite know what to think of all this attention.

Claire's birthday "cake". I figured people really just want to see the kid have a good time devouring something they love and get really messy. We aren't doing wheat anymore (think she reacted) and she hasn't had sugary stuff yet and I didn't see a reason to start now. So, her "cake" was banana slices topped with mashed strawberries and blueberries. She LOVED it. A little hesitant at first, but adorable.

"Is this really mine?!"

Joy.

Sharing with Gramma

She does this whenever we say "Oh, so sweet!"

Um, best picture ever? Possibly. Thanks for taking all the great pictures, dad!

She ate 2-3 entire bananas plus the other fruit. Then some hotdog pieces. And some water. After we cleaned her up, I mentioned that it had been a while since she nursed, and someone commented that she just ate so much she probably didn't want to! Hyrum brought her over to me, and when I asked her if she wanted to nurse, she squealed and did a head dive into my chest. It was pretty funny.

She still loves water. Although lately, after drinking it, she quickly sticks her little hand into the cup and splashes!

Some little friends, Claire and Chloe. How adorable are they? I told you that you were to be overwhelmed with cuteness.

End of the Party, whew.

We cleaned her up using the water table, then hosed down the high chair.

It was a pretty great day! Hyrum and I will hopefully give her our presents on her actual birthday (if we finish them by then!). I can't believe my little baby is turning 1!

So cute! The banana "cake" is a fantastic idea! Happy Birthday baby!
That fruit idea is so smart!!! We did cake with brea and she HATED it (she didn't know what it was, really, and only ate the frosting) so this is a really great idea for Christian's??? You are a genius!
