11 months

23.4 lbs with lightweight jammies and a diaper on.

Claire took her first step 9 days before she turned 11 months, and has taken one step here and there, but never more than one. She can, however, stand up, squat or bend over to pick something up, then stand straight again. With that kind of balance you'd think she would start walking soon! Update: 5/16 she took 3 steps a few different times!

While I type this, she is rocking out to Vivaldi's "Spring". She loves classical music. She also loves Offspring. And the air compressor. And when we sing.

A few weeks ago, Hyrum taught her to crawl off the bed backwards. It's so cute. A few days ago, she crawled all the way down the stairs (with me spotting of course).

She's started making funny bla sounds with her tongue as she moves it side to side. The same day she did that, she put her finger to her lips and moved it up and down. So funny.

Countdown to the big 1 starts! I can't believe we are so close to her first birthday. I was writing something in her calendar and went to look at the next month and realized there was no next month! Sad.
Enough with the pictures already.
Outta here

These are from a while ago, but she looks so sweet in them

Claire loves to dig through my diaper bag and pull everything out. She loves sunglasses and pens.
Staring at the wall is a great pass time too.
Lately she has loved to crawl in a room, hide behind the door, and then try to shut us out. Sometimes she'll just sit there staring at the corner.
And peek-a-boo is still on the list of one of the funnest games ever. One time she held a book in front of her face and either lowered or raised it, playing peek-a-boo with me for 10 minutes.
Another new favorite thing is to open and close the dresser drawers over and over and over. And pull everything out of course. I blame that as to why I never put clean laundry away. Yeah, that's why.
Claire has been opening her mouth, saying "Ah" and shaking her head back and forth. Then she laughs. She did it a few days ago while nursing. I couldn't help but laugh and she gave me one of those adorable still-latched smiles.
I caught her getting into the tissue box, and just let her have at it.
How else would I get cute pictures like this?

Oh, what fun.
We discovered the high back carry with the mei tai. It allows her to see what's going on but keeps her on my back for safety- for things like when I cook.

She loves to wii fit. She's trying to keep her girlish figure.

She really does love those wii-motes, she takes them everywhere.
We've given up on bibs and now just strip down whenever she eats. At least she likes to eat, right? She used to not like avocados, green beans, and peaches, but that is no longer the case. There is nothing she doesn't like. It's funny how she sometimes spits out what she has in her mouth when we put something new on her tray.
Claire is so much fun and Hyrum and I are so lucky to be her parents.

Soooo cute. I love that you post LONG posts. I love every picture. You COULD post a couple more of MY baby, though. She is a lucky little girl to be so loved.

my mom always says the perfect gift for a one year old is their very own box of kleenex. :) she's a doll!
