On Thursday we got to go to our first prenatal! I LOVE our midwife M. I found a picture of her online- the one with the gray hair. She is so sweet and knowledgeable. The appt wasn't much- peed in a cup so I guess they could make sure I was pregnant, took my weight and blood pressure, gave me a free little pregnancy book thing, and I got to feel where my uterus is (which measured right on). Mostly we just talked for 45 minutes and met with the other midwife C and their assistant J. I had actually met J about a year ago at friend's of midwives meetings at the library that I used to take Liam and Henry to (a nice way to get out of the house). She's also a doula, so it's kind of like we get a free doula at the birth!

Nothing has really changed with the belly, though I think I must be less bloated or something because my belly seemed to go down. My stomach muslces are still sore and if I move suddenly I get those sharp pains/twinges of my ligaments and whatever moving around. From about 5 1/2 weeks on I had felt pretty nauseous all the time, but it was the worst mid-morning and evening. It got worse at 8 weeks, so I was getting worried, but right at 9 weeks I started to feel better and was able to do things around the house again. I never did throw up, though I dry heaved a couple of times. I also have a bad taste in my mouth a lot of the time (can't wait till that goes away). Anyway, here are the last few weeks!

Weird, you are getting more pregnant. I can't wait til that belly is ginormous and we can take some rockin' maternity pictures! I'll have to scout out some really cool places wherever the heck you live!
You've got it all wrong Brie...you're shrinking.
Why are your stomach muscles sore? Are you doing lots of crunches to keep your belly flat? ;)
Glad you found such a great midwife!
aww, that's so fun! it's nostalgic to get to read about you experiencing it all! i'm glad that you found a good midwife and doula. that will be nice for you! i went to all the classes by myself and everything, so when it came down to the actual labor, and i didn't have someone to help me and support me it was really hard. (not that it ended up mattering- c section, you know) so i'm glad that you have good people. keep blogging! i love getting to see photos and hearing about all the excitement of growing a sweet little baby!
It is just so weird that my LITTLE sister is pregnant! That is awesome that you found a good midwife, that is soooo important! YEAH it's all so exciting!!!
